Autumn fashion for your body shape

Autumn and winter fashion means that layering and knitted fashion will be heading everyone’s way and flooding every social feed! From turtlenecks, knitted sweaters and more. We have ethical and sustainable ideas for your wardrobe for all body shapes.

Dressing your body and finding a match for your body type can be tricky, so here are some quick tips and ideas!

Apple Body Shapes

Pairing skinny / boot cut jeans with layers such as tailored jackets, flowy cardigans over a sweater or a v neckline bringing emphasis to the top of your body. For a little more distinction, try pairing with a standout poncho or cape flared coat.

Pear Body Shapes

Flatter your bottom half with off the shoulder knits or a chunky turtleneck. For sweaters and tops, opt for those that end at or above your waistline. With Y2K fashion still being in vogue if you’re feeling adventurous, try a colourful top this winter from acid green to aquamarine to brighten up those winter days. You can wear lots of fun patterns, stripes, and even subtle shoulder pads to create detailing around your top half.

Hourglass Body Shapes

When it comes to hourglasses, accentuating your waist is key, scoop necks and v necks paired with flared trousers can be a great option,  or are you looking for an outfit for a winter party? Look no further than a fitted dress that nips in the waist, such as cable knit scoop neck dresses or a more defined puff sleeved dress, but try to avoid stiff fabrics and heavy embellishments, especially around the hip area.

Rectangle Body Shapes

A sweater with a sweetheart neckline or scoop neck combined with a slimmer cut on the waist would be a perfect match for your shape. Longer knit styles or longer coats can also help highlight curves and lengthen the look of your body. For dresses, opt for a slip dress that provides some drape for your curves, which can be paired with a belted style coat to help accentuate your middle.

Inverted Triangle Body Shapes

Sweaters and jackets with a deeper neckline, for example a deep v-neck or scoop neck creates length in the body and draws attention downwards. Avoid too much bulk and opt for lighter knits with a bit of drape or collared cardigans that can add some length.

About Amanda Ip

Hi there - I'm Amanda, the founder of Curobe. My journey with Curobe started with a frustration of not being able to find the simplest of items for my wardrobe. Despite the plethora of choices out there, I found nothing that could help me choose and buy what I wanted, that fit my body and shape. I would just like to avoid sifting through hundreds of items, just to find a pair of smart casual trousers that fit me! That is why I started Curobe, to create a place that helps women choose and buy better, starting with the basics: finding good quality items that fit well!
